How to choose your MTB bleed kit?

Maintaining the MTB hydraulic brake system is essential to ensure proper operation, efficiency and reliability. To do it yourself on your MTB, you will need a bleed kit. Here is how to choose one.

TYPES OF KITS

The bleed kit will differ depending on the brand and specific model of brake.

These kits consist of either syringes, as with SRAM, Avid and Formula brakes;
or a type of funnel, as with Magura or Shimano brakes.

You will therefore need to choose a kit compatible with your brakes and designed for the appropriate fluid (DOT or Mineral).
