How to determine chain wear?
We've heard all sorts of things about chain wear control. chains. Even if, at first glance, you can see that the chain is tired, there's a very simple and inexpensive tool to check it reliably and limit the number of components to be replaced at the same time.
It's as simple as it is obvious: gears are unstable or shift badly, and the transmission is noisy when the equipment is too worn. So, if this is the case, there's no doubt that the chain needs replacing. This method does not, however, determine whether the chain is so worn as to require replacement. cassette.
The tool used to measure the level of wear is a chain wear monitor that measures the elongation of your chain: one level at +0.075 mm, the other at +0.1 mm. At the first level, only the chain needs replacing; at the second, at least the chain and cassette need replacing.
