A fairly simple operation, cassette assembly is within everyone's reach if you have the right tools.

- Tools : Chain whip | Cassette remover (Shimano/Sram or Campagnolo depending on your cassette) | Torque wrench
Steps
First, disassemble the rear wheel, then remove the quick-release.
- Hold the cassette with the chain whip to prevent it from rotating
- Loosen the central nut using the cassette remover.
- Remove the cassette from the freewheel body.
- Clean and grease the freewheel body.
Probikeshop tip: Check the condition of the freewheel body.
- Fit the new cassette.
Probikeshop tip: Note that the splines on the body act as a locator to position the sprockets correctly.
- Finally, tighten the new central nut to the torque specified by the manufacturer.
After a few rides, check the tightness of the cassette, as it may have just settled into place.
