Bike stem – An important part for steering

The bicycle stem is one of the peripheral components and plays an important role on the bike, as it is involved in steering and is fixed to 2 other parts. The stem is indeed fixed to the fork at the steerer tube, at the exit of the head tube, and to the handlebar. Together with the handlebar, it forms what is known as the cockpit. When you turn your handlebar to the right or to the left, it turns the fork in the chosen direction thanks to the stem and the headset (bearings fitted between the fork steerer tube and the head tube of the frame).
