Is it truly waterproof? The cotton canvas has a double-layer coating that makes it highly water-resistant (water-repellent). It perfectly protects your belongings during an urban shower. However, for total immersion or hours under heavy rain, an additional rain cover is recommended.
How do you maintain it? A simple wipe with a damp sponge is sufficient for the canvas. For the leather parts, you can occasionally apply a little Brooks leather grease (Proofide) to keep them supple and enhance their water resistance.
