Description

The SHIMANO XTR M9220 Enduro 29'' rear wheel has been designed to meet the extreme demands of the Enduro World Series competitions, while remaining easy to maintain. It is the most robust carbon wheel ever offered by Shimano. With its 30 mm hookless carbon rim, new XTR hubs and J-Bend stainless steel spokes (28 in total), it combines performance, reliability and ease of repair.

One of the major strengths of this wheel is its ultra-fast 3.5° engagement angle, which ensures instant power transfer. This system is combined with smooth bearings and an intelligent seal design, considerably reducing resistance during freewheeling phases.

The WH-M9220 uses a standard 29-inch format with a Boost 148x12 mm rear hub, and a classic 28-hole drilling, which makes it easy to pair with a wide range of frames and ensures parts availability for replacement.

Finally, the stainless steel cartridge bearings are not only durable but also easy to maintain. Combined with an optimised preload adjustment and excellent sealing, they guarantee smooth and consistent rotation on all terrain.

"Je teste ces roues depuis quelques jours et je peux vous dire qu'e l'on est sur un gros changement chez Shimano. Déjà au niveau du moyeu, on est sur du roulements annulaires, simple et facile à entretenir. Ensuite le degré d'engagement est ultra rapide, digne de moyeux très haut de gamme chez la concurrence. Le bruit de la roue libre est bien présent, voir la vidéo. Des roues hyper réactives, relances maximales. Poids assez léger pour la pratique, ça vous transforme un vélo. Je trouve que le compromis est top pour des pratiquants montagne, gros pédaleurs qui cherchent à faire des dénivelés importantes ou en pratique enduro aussi qui recherchent performance, précision et robustesse. C'est sobre, classe et efficace comme d'hab chez Shimano."
