Plastic junction too flexible
"It broke on the first ride. It's from Shimano. I hope they recognize that the plastic junction that broke between the 2 axles is too fragile. I've never had that with any other derailleur."

From the new Ultegra 8050 electric groupset, the SHIMANO Ultegra Di2 8050 2x11-speed braze-on front derailleur has been designed to offer a wider gear range, without compromising on shifting performance and whilst remaining just as quiet.
Fast and smooth chainring changes are guaranteed in all conditions, even when you shift to the big ring whilst out of the saddle.
Shimano's Synchronized Shift technology synchronises the front gear change with any rear shift, allowing both derailleurs to work together efficiently.
With Semi-Synchronized Shift technology, it works the other way around: the rear gear change is synchronised with any front shift, allowing an optimal gear ratio to be maintained.
At the same time, the Di2 auto-trim function will automatically and precisely centre the front derailleur around the chain, thus avoiding any chain rub when moving the chain across the cassette. That is how fast, precise and smooth your gear shifting can be.

"the di2 is really great compared to the mechanical yet i don't understand why the shimano engineers removed the small chainring stop adjustment screw. this results in a reduced adjustment range and thus oval chainrings become incompatible with the di2 r8050. I hope it will be put back in for the 2019 version because it was a mistake to remove it."
